How Scribers for Mac works

Capture meetings locally

No bot, no joining the call. Scribers records both your microphone and the other participants right on your Mac — Zoom, Meet, Teams, or in person.

Two-track speaker labels

Your mic and the system audio are recorded as separate tracks, so transcripts come back cleanly split into "you" and "them" — no guessing who said what.

Always up to date

Built-in auto-update keeps Scribers for Mac current. Sign in once with your Scribers account and your transcripts sync to the web.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Macs are supported?

Scribers for Mac v1.0.0 requires a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14.4 or newer. Intel-based Macs are not supported in this version — the local audio runtime is built for Apple silicon only.

Do I need a Scribers account?

Yes. Sign in with your existing Scribers account to connect the Mac app. Transcription runs through the same Scribers cloud pipeline you already use on the web.

Does it join my meeting or show a bot?

No. Scribers captures audio locally at the operating-system level with your permission. There is no bot in the call and no consent banner — it works on any call, including in-person conversations.

How do speaker labels work?

Your microphone and the other participants are recorded as two separate tracks. Diarization uses that split to label you versus everyone else, then identifies individual remote speakers.

How do I get updates?

Scribers for Mac updates itself automatically. You always download the latest stable build from this page.
